Patricia Bacon

Patricia Bacon is a freelance writer and a founding member of the Tri-Valley Branch of the California Writers Club. She was an active member for over ten years of the first Great Books Discussion Group in the Tri-Valley, which focused on Plato, Aristotle, etc.

A Journalism major at San Jose State University, Patricia gained a wealth of knowledge during her working career as Secretary to the Art Director at Rand McNally Company in Chicago, Executive Secretary of San Jose Life Underwriters Association, and Secretary to the Human Resources Manager at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory. After retiring, she volunteered for several years as an Art Gallery Docent at the Oakland Museum, conducting scheduled tours for groups of adults and children. During that time she was also Art Editor of the Docent News.

Her short stories have been published in the CWC Berkeley Anthology, Livermore’s Saturday Salon Literary Harvest Anthology, Las Positas College Anthology, and the first and second editions of the CWC Tri-Valley Writers Anthology.

Sailing their boat on San Francisco Bay, deep-sea salmon fishing, and camping in the Sierras with her husband and sons provided lots of adventures. Patricia, now the proud grandmother of three children, also keeps busy with her organic vegetable gardening and weeding, with no help at all from her Beagle, Barney.
