Winterfest 2017

What’s ekphrasis?

What’s an ekphrasis party you ask? Well, it is part art gallery, part open mic, and lots of party.  Members get to display their arts and crafts, members get inspired by the visual arts and write pieces to match, then we all get together, read them in front of the works that inspired us, and admire each others’ creativity.

You can see the visual works from our previous ekphrasis parties in 2015 and 2013.

Important Dates:

  • Now: Submit open for written works inspired by the images.
    • All submissions must be in a Word Document (.docx) attachment, Times New Roman, 12 point font.
    • There is a 1000 word limit on prose pieces. Poetry is limited to 20 lines.
    • Please include your name, the title of the work you are writing about, the title of your piece, and the word count in your document.
