Lakshmi Warrier

Lakshmi WarrierLakshmi Warrier grew up in India, and moved to the United States several years ago. Her writing is influenced by the varied and rich experiences she has had along the way as a first generation immigrant. In addition to professional writing, she has been writing creatively since she was a child, with her first published piece in a children’s magazine in India when she was ten years old. She especially enjoys writing historic fiction and nonfiction, poetry, memoir, and travel essays. To solidify her commitment as a writer and hone her craft, she is currently completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Writing and the Professional Sequence in Editing from UC Berkeley Extension. She also serves as an editor for the upcoming literary magazine Ursa Minor by the UC Berkeley extension writing program.

Lakshmi holds a Masters in Genetic Counseling, and has practiced as a genetic counselor for many years. In addition, she is involved in multiple nonprofit causes benefiting education and healthcare.
