2020 Alameda County Arts Commission Grant

Alameda County Arts Commission

Tri-Valley Writers was fortunate to be awarded a generous grant of $1900 by the Alameda County Arts Commission. The grants are awarded on a two-year cycle to 501(c)3 arts groups within Alameda County. While completing the application for the 2020-22 cycle, TVW discovered that although the California Writers Club is a 501(c)3 organization, the branches are designated as 501(c)6 groups. As the official address for the CWC is not within Alameda County, TVW would not have been eligible to apply for a grant. Fortunately, Amador Valley Quilters became TVW’s fiscal sponsor at the request of Lani Longshore, a long-time member of Amador Valley Quilters. TVW is grateful to both the Alameda County Arts Commission and Amador Valley Quilters for helping TVW support the literary arts. The branch will use the grant funds to assist with our 2021 Writers Conference and our 10th and 11th Annual High School Writing Contests. Congratulations Tri-Valley Writers!
