Ashley Kim

Ashley Kim is a Korean American writer located in California. Her poetry and prose focus on the images, dialogue, and details of ordinary life and explore her identity and place in the world. In her writing, emotions constantly interconnect and conglomerate in novel combinations. Domesticity is stained with independent, isolated womanhood. Grief and joy are woven together. Comfort adds to discomfort’s weight.

Kim has a chapbook entitled Hyangsu (Dancing Girl Press, 2025). She has been published in Spill Stories’ anthology, Powerful Asian Moms, as well as in Hyphen Magazine, Stirring, Autofocus, FEED, and Star 82 Review, among others. She also reads for Variant Literature.
